My family LOVES pizza! It’s a big staple in our house, usually making its way to the dinner table at least one night a week.  Now, if you know me, you probably know that you won’t usually find me in the frozen pizza section, but Freschetta lured me there with a free pizza.  {A night off from cooking and it’s free: I’ll take it!} And I have to say, frozen pizzas have come a long way…I believe the last frozen pizza I ate was probably 20 years ago and from that famous Mama who shares my name!

Freschetta Simply…Inspired Pizzas are the newest line Freschetta offers.  They come in 8 varieties…and feature larger cuts of fresh veggies, a thin, crispy crust, real cheese and signature sauces.  Additionally, they are packaged in their FRESCH-TASTE SEAL packages, which uses 30% less packaging than their original. It just peels open, no box, to reveal the tasty goods inside. This "green" mama likes less packaging.

So I have to share a funny story.  Well, let me back up a little more while I’m at it.  Alright, so Trader Joe’s does not carry Freschetta {no shock here}…so off I ventured into our local grocery store, Mollie Stones, and they too did not carry Freschetta, darn!  Determined to find it, we found ourselves at Safeway next.  Yay! Third store’s a charm.  Now, they didn’t have all 8 to chose from, only 4…which was more than ok as my kids immediately selected the Canadian Style Bacon and Pineapple, aka: Hawaiian.  That was easy!  Only we get home and I go to snap a picture before cooking it and realize I had gotten a pizza from their “Naturally Rising” collection, rather than their “Simply…Inspired” collection which I intended to get.

So back to Safeway again, only to realize they don’t have any of the Simply…Inspired Pizzas…yet {they’re so new, I feel like I’m on the cutting edge of the pizza industry}.  Oh darn!  I’m trying so hard to complete my assignment {I feel like I’m back in high school} and I can’t get the right product!!  So I send my mom out to a different Safeway where she successfully finds 3 of the 8 varieties and takes them all!  Gotta Love Mom, always making sure you do your homework right.

 It’s pizza night!

 

We tried {from left to right} the Bruschetta, Hawaiian and Rustic Pepperoni Pomodoro…which also happens to be in order of my taste preference for them all.

The Bruschetta had a nice herbal taste, big tomatoes, and tasted like it was on garlic bread: yum!
